FYR Cycene Ond Drinc (pronounced as FIRE Kitchen and Drink)
is a modern European-styled cuisine in a casual dining restaurant located along
central business district, Boon Tat Street. The atmosphere is all about the
rugged vibe, such as sepia hued wall mural and hardwood benches. Even its name
harks back to primitive origins, using etymology of fire, the most important
element in cooking.

The latest dining addition to Tiong Bahru is House of
Peranakan Petit, an intimate 30-seater restaurant in a modern Peranakan setting
(hence it is “Petit”), along Eng Hoon Street - a former Peranakan district. Staying true to the roots even with the inundated of hipster
cafes. In addition to Peranakan Inn in Katong and House of Peranakan Cuisine in
Frankel, the family is now excited to bring its rich culinary heritage to Tiong
Bahru. The House of Peranakan Group of restaurant is a pioneer in Nonya
cuisine, managed by a pure Peranakan family for more than 30 years. Inspired by
his mother’s culinary skills, Bob Seah wanted to share his family’s culinary
culture with others.

Making a trip all the way to the east, so unfamiliar to me. But good news for those staying there! Previously known as Simpang Bedok Food Centre is now revamped to The Bedok Marketplace. The whole place gives a nostalgic feel with olden days shop front alike. Here to check out the newly opened yakitori shop, The Burning Oak.
