Hongdae is the abbreviation of Hongik University. Sub culturing to a symbol of unique cultural identity among the youths in Korea. Do plan to visit on a Sunday, because that's when they have the Weekly Sunday Bazaar. Venture into the maze of shops and cafes, and getting lost haa! There is always a turn round very corner and it's pretty hard to locate the shop you first saw, so don't miss out on buying something you really like (if not map out your route, it's either you're always coming back to the same shop or will never find it again lols).
There is so many things to see and do in Hongdae that I think you may need a full day there! :D
Directions: Hongik University Station (Hongdae), Subway Line 2, exit 5.
Hongik University, the school is known for fine arts and design.

It's Spring and it calls for some bloom cherry blossoms aka Sakura (no this is not Japan). I did some research and found out during Spring, there will be a Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival in Yeouido Park, and it's free too. Yes certain park requires admission, that's because it's more private, and one of the highlight includes autumn trees too. It is slightly further thus I decided to go with this, Yeouido Park (여의도 공원).
Yeouido Park is a large recreational area, a long rectangular park, located in
the central part of Seoul. The park is divided into four themes mainly the
Traditional Korean Forest, Grass Square, Culture Square, and Nature’s Ecosystem
Forest. My main highlight to this park is for the cherry
blossom trees, which are mostly 30 to 40 years old, all planted along in a
stretch of about 6km long path.
Due to the unusually cold weather during Spring, some of the trees are still "bald".
As you can see, the park is surrounded by tall buildings, this is also one of the business district.

Day four itinerary:
- Insa-dong
- Ewha Woman's University
- N Seoul Tower / Namsan Tower
Love their informative subway system!
Headed out to Insa-dong early, it is located in the heart of the city, you will find lots of traditional goods there including traditional restaurants and art galleries.
How to find a decent tradition Korean restaurant to dine in? Simple, not all restaurants provide English menu so when there is, it's pretty tourist-friendly.
On the table: Korean beef stew (to warm my tummy on a cold day), kimchi pancake (it is so HUGE!) and many traditional Korean side dishes.

My day three itinerary is dedicated to Everland theme park, as it is located off Seoul. Started the day with at Korea's famous fast food chain, Lotteria for brunch.
Directions to Everland:
Train to Gangnam Station and exit no 6 or 7.
Walk straight till you pass dunkin donuts, cross the road and take bus 5002 from the bus stop in the middle of the road. Bus journey to Yongji takes approximately one hour.
Alight and take a free shuttle bus to Everland entrance.
Lotteria can be found at any major streets, serving Korean's speciality burgers such as OhJingEo Burger (squid burger) and Bulgogi Burger (grilled marinated beef burger).

Day two itinerary:
- Gyeongbokgung Palace
- Bukchon Hanok Village
- Gwangjang Market
- Dongdaemun
Weather was extremely cold that day and it rained making it worse!! Thanks to Global warming, the weather has been a little haywire. It was supposed to be Spring in April but Winter decided to extent its stay. We just gonna put on more clothes and carry on with our itinerary to Gyeongbokgung Palace in the morning. Gyeongbokgung Palace is one of the most main palace in Seoul.
All covered but am still freezing from the strong wind.
