The Union of Crabs and Lobsters Dinner Buffet @ Park Royal on Kitchener Road | Farrer Park, Singapore
Wednesday, July 13, 2016
The wait is over! The crustacean battle, featuring the lobsters and
crabs at Spice Brasserie located in Park Royal on Kitchener Road. The Union of
Crabs and Lobsters buffet dinner will be available from 4 July to 3 September
2016, Thursday to Saturday only.
What’s more, UOB, DBS/POSB, Maybank, HSBC cardholders can enjoy the
exclusive promotion of $118++ for two adults (U.P. $78++/adult). On top of the
existing card promotions, you can also enjoy a complimentary glass of wine per
person. Simply claim it at Park Royal Kitchener’s Facebook page.
Featuring my favourite from the lot as well as the crowd-favourite, the freshly prepared Steamed ‘Live’ Boston Lobster in Chinese Wine. The sweetness of the steamed lobster with the aroma of the Chinese wine, it’s like a match-make in heaven.
Along with the other whole lobster dish, Flame-grilled Lobster
Mentaiko which is topped with Cheese on a fresh lobster meat and covered with mentaiko
sauce, sadly we couldn’t savour much of the mentaiko sauce as it seems to be overwhelmed
by mayonnaise. Baked Lobster with Okiami & Natto Sauce is something
different from the rest, like how the PR would describe it as mee rebus flavoured.
Next off the buffet spread with the cold dish, Truffle Lobster with
Marinated Jellyfish Salad appetiser. The combination of truffle and the lobster
goes along quite pleasantly, I wouldn’t say the same for the marinated
jellyfish though.
Other must-try dishes include Lobster Noodle Soup and Lobster Congee and Crustacean Congee. The Lobster Noodle Soup tasted somewhat like our Asian prawn mee soup with crustacean sweetness, it would be ideal if they can cut down on the pepper. On the other hand, Lobster Congee, Crab Roe Congee and Crustacean Congee had everyone singing in praises. The light texture and flavour of the congee contains hints of lobster and crustacean essence, which could be one of the reason why it tasted so good. We had so much that we couldn't identify which is better!
Other dishes among the buffet course comprises of Crustacean Paella, Lobster Wellington and Japanese Lobster Fried Rice. As appetising as Crustacean Paella looks, the rice could be improved and it would turned out great.
Lastly, the Tandoori Lobster were surprisingly good too. Well, move away tandoori chicken and make way for tandoor lobster instead. This was served last and I was already fed to the brim, if not I wouldn't mind having multiple servings of these.

with the crabs highlight, starting with the all-time favourite slow-braised
Pumpkin Crab in Claypot and Singapore’s staple Chilli and Black Pepper Crabs.
