MEDZS Bistro & Bar @ Clifford Centre, Singapore
Thursday, October 16, 2014
MEDZS serves Mediterranean
cuisine and is one of the biggest variety in Singapore. The cuisine ranges from
Spain, Turkey, Morocco,
Tunisia, Greece, Italy and France. Their new outlet is nested in the heart of
CBD area, it is a centrally situated Bistro-by-day, doorstep-bar-by-night. MEDZS
@ Clifford Centre offers all-day dining menu and their breakfast items are from
8am to 11am daily. They are also one of the first bars in Singapore to offer
the latest Kirin Frozen Fruit Beer.
MEDZS has recently launched the Foie Gras Burger, also known as MEDZS Signature Burger [$19.90] - grilled gourmet beef patty with provencal herbs on mesclun greens topped with pan seared foie gras, pesto aioli and spicy salsa
That is a very long and delicious description! I love that the foie gras goes really well with the beef patty and sauce, it compliments each other. Like how crispy the bun was too! It is definitely a challenge to have a bite of everything, thus I have it layer by layer haa.
They started off with the
concept of ordering through the counters and charged to their card and pay when
they exit (similar to Marché). They have later changed to ordering
from the order chit.
The burger is served with nachos with spicy salsa greens at the side.
Tip: this is available for takeaway too! Just call 65461917 in advance for your takeaway orders.
Iced MelonDew Tea [$5.90]
The taste of the tea is pretty refreshing yet unique after-taste, make sure yours come chilled. It was recommended to go with the Foie Gras Burger.
MEDZS Signature Honey Glazed Pork Ribs [$17.90] - oven-roasted pork ribs served with sautéed vegetables and truffle balsamic sauce
This is another highlight at the Bistro & Bar! One plate of rib's meat were slightly tougher than the other, guessing it was because of the different parts of the ribs.
Oven-baked Semi-cured Salmon [$18.90] - herbs crusted home-made semi-cured salmon served with French potatoes, micro herbs salad and lime vinaigrette
Cured Salmon basically means the raw salmon was preserved by using a mixture of fermentation,
pickling, or smoking. This method is usually used to prevent the fish from turning bad. That would also explain the saltness of this dish!
MEDZS is also known for its crated beers, such as Kirin Forzen Beer [$6.90]. It comes in Original, Strawberry, Lychee, Peppermint, Mango and Peach. That is some icy foam at the top!
On the table (from left to right), we have Lychee, Peach and Strawberry Kirin Forzen Beer.
The meal wouldn't be complete without something sweet! So here we have the Carrot Cake [$5.90]. I got to say this is on par with Cedele's Carrot Cake.
Not forgetting MEDZS Signature Rainbow Cake [$6.90]!
I love how lovely the pastel colours are and they are so evenly spread, it tasted like an ice cream cake instead of sponge cake (in my opinion). Though there is a layers of cream cheese but it is not creamy at all. One of the best Rainbow Cake I have tasted till date. This is has also been awarded by 8Days as the BEST Rainbow Cake, it is a MUST TRY!
Cuppucino [$4.90]
If you want to balance your taste buds, MEDZS Bistro & Bar serves decent coffee with cute latte art too!
Tip: with
any purchase of a breakfast item, you can top up S$1.50 for a cup of the richly
aromatic Lavazza coffee, which hails from Italy.
Food tasted even better when it is with them! Food khakis ftw! :D
