Miam Miam, the French-Japanese casual
cafe kitchen introduces more rice-based options like the Miam Donburi to their
mainstays (check out the other mainstays I've tried some time back here). The three donburi are (from left to right) Glazed Teriyaki Chicken | $14.9, a rice bowl of chicken chunks and
Japanese leek glazed with Nippon
sauce. Lastly, topped with wafu
tofu, baby radish and crisp cucumber.
Although my ideal donburi would consist of a poached
egg atop the rice bowl but Shogayaki Pork | $15.9 has to be my favourite
out of the three Miam donburi. The pork loin meat is marinated with Shoyu sauce and fresh
ginger for 24hours. Then, sliced to consistent thickness before it is
pan-fried for exactly one minute. Such short cooking time ensures the meat
retains its juiciness.
Followed by, Seared Barramundi Fillet | $16.9
which showcase the medium thickness cut Barramundi fillet which were seared on high
heat for one minute. Reason being that the fish is packed with omega-3 and omega-6
oils, a perfect healthy indulgence. Also, togarashi and a medley of spices are
also used to spike the fillet with a slight fiery note.
Besides the mainstays, Miam Miam have also added
a new flavour to their souffles under the dessert menu. Kuro Goma Souffle |
$10.8 an intense and earthy flavour which is an excellent source of magnesium and calcium too. This airy egg-based dish is baked for 20minutes and served immediately to ensure it
retains its magnificent height.
