Mu Parlour @ Holland Village, Singapore

Tuesday, May 13, 2014

Looking for a quiet place to chill or to enjoy your meal? (Not too sure if it's quiet any more cause with the circle line it's even more convenient to get there) Holland Village has a secret gem! It is located on the second level, right above Thai Express. Mu Parlour is all about the all day brunch, gourmet cheese burgers, coffee/tea and desserts.

The first thing you will notice upon entering after a flight of stairs would be the beautiful dessert counter with lots of yummy desserts!! The café's concept brings forth an arty-farty feel with a blend of modern classic to its furniture. Love the ambience! On a bad note, I have to admit the waiting time for food to arrive is slow, even though my friends and I were the only ones dinning there.

Lemon meringue tart [$8]
Thumbs up for their dessert!! Lemon was not too sour and the crust was oh-so-crispy.
Tip: It's more worth it to top up $9 to make it a meal with when you ordered a main course.

Beef and runny eggs, served with fries [$13]
When it said runny eggs, I expected it to be "wet" but it turns out pretty dry. Not my ideal runny, fluffy scramble eggs.

Burger no. 11 [$15] - Beef patty, avocado, streaky bacon, mu secret sauce. It comes with iceberg lettuce, tomato, fresh onion and side of garlic fries.
It would be better if the beef patty is juicier haa! Overall burger is nicely done but the bread is too thick, I ended with 3/4 of the bread left.

Tip: Chef's recommendation are burger no. 1, 11 and 29

Have I also mentioned that Mu Parlour is a great place for people watching if you are seated near the glass panel.
