PEONY JADE'S MONKEY MAGIC FESTIVAL
Kickstarted my
Chinese New Year munching with Peony Jade’s traditional home-made prosperity
nyonya cookies, Salted Egg Yolk Cookies
and Almond Flakes with Goji Berries Cookies [$32.88/tin each]. These two
are among the new flavours available this year, the other flavours includes
Butter Coffee Caramel, Fragrant Lychee and Lemongrass Cereal Prawn Cookies.
The Salted Egg
Yolk ones are soft and crumbling which melts in your mouth, and it comes with a
subtle Salted Egg Yolk flavour, definitely my pick! On the other hand, Almond
Flakes with Goji Berries ones are crunchy with pieces of chewy goji berries. The
freshly hand-crafted cookies and pastries are now available at Takashimaya’s
annual Lunar New Year Festive Market at B2’s atrium until 7 February 2016.
On top of the
cookies, Peony Jade
has come up with a selection of 2016 Chinese New Year artful creations,
takeaways and menus from 14 January to 22 February 2016, at the Keppel Club and
Clarke Quay branches.

THE GOLDEN DUCK
The brand goes by “re-imagination
of the ever-popular, traditional Asian flavour that is synonymous with dishes
served at festivities, banquets and celebrations.” All products are
hand-crafted by their chefs daily so we can only taste the freshest Taiwanese
flavour and culture.
This Gourmet Taiwanese Salted Egg Yolk Potato Chips [$7 | Single-serve foil
packet] are made using the oh-so-addictive Taiwanese Salted Egg recipe
which includes curry leaves, hence expect a little spiciness at the aftertaste.
It is then coated onto hand-crafted potato crisps and baked to golden
perfection. Single-serve foil packet for personal indulgence, best consumed
within four weeks but once opened try to finish it within a week or less (even
though it’s resealable) if not it’ll lose the freshness. Thank you Vivienne for
sharing this goodness with me!
You can get yours via their
website now.
